Pledge
President Michael Parker called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
Roll call indicated that all Trustees Stewart and Parker were present, Trustee Scott Leber was absent. Also present was Phillip David, Fiscal Officer/ Zoning Inspector, Road Superintendent David Kelley was excused.
Minutes:
Mr. Stewart moved to approve the minutes for October 1st meeting, Mr. Parker seconded the motion. Roll was called, with all present voting yes; motion carried.
Guest:
Daneen Kindt, 4608 Delematre Road was present at the meeting to discuss the cleanup of rubbish material that was pushed off her property into the adjoining ditch and property. Ms. Kindt said they didn’t realize that it was a ditch. After some discussion, Ms. Kindt and the Trustees came to an agreement that she would pay the Township $300 dollars to clean the mess up and reopen the ditch. The Trustees thanked Ms. Kindt for coming in and agreeing to the cleanup, therefore avoiding any further legal actions.
Bob England, Erie County Health Department was present at the meeting to discuss the house at 4813 Delematre Road belonging to the Kennedy’s. The house is in the process of repossession and Sheriff Sale. He said not much can be done until there is a legal owner. However the Health Department does want to move ahead and seal the house to avoid and contamination or infestation of varmints.
Mr. England also brought it to the attention of the Trustees that the Health Department has received addition funds for the replacement of old or non-functioning septic systems. He said the funds available for replacement systems are based on household member numbers and income levels set by the 2015 Federal Poverty Guidelines. Mr. England left copies of the program sheets with the Trustees. The Trustees “thanked” Mr. England for taking time to come to the meeting and bringing them up to speed with the current issues.
Zoning Report:
Mr. David reported that he had issued one permit since the last meeting to Dennis Faber, 6305 Mason Road for a fence.
Road Superintendent
Mr. Kelley was excused from the meeting.
Trustees:
Mr. Leber was absent.
Mr. Parker There was discussion about the fire contact progression with Groton Township. Copies of the proposed Rescue and Fire Contract were signed by the Trustees to be forwarded to Groton Township for their approval and signatures. With their approval the date of November 1, 2015 was slated as Groton Township Fire Department’s fire and rescue coverage starting date.
Mr. Stewart had brought the issue of the cleanup on Delematre Road to the meeting. It was finalized earlier in the meeting with Ms. Kindt. Mr. Stewart said he had discussed the fire on Harris Road with Chief Jett. He said the Chief was looking into what possible charges there could be and would be finalizing his report to the Trustees.
Fiscal Officer
Communications
Communications were reviewed.
Old Business
Fire Contract and possible fire charges were discussed earlier in the meeting.
New Business
Mr. Stewart moved to pay the bills in the amount of $26,006.51 Mr. Parker; seconded the motion. Roll was called, with all present voting yes; motion carried.
No further business, the meeting was adjourned.
