  Regular Meeting Minutes

March 19, 2025

CALL TO ORDER:

Trustee Scott Leber called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Trustee Scott Leber led the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL:

Trustees Leber, Miller, and Parker were present at the roll call. Fiscal Officer Pelletier arrived at 7:06 due to a prior engagement, and Road Superintendent Andy Dunlap is still on vacation.

MINUTES:

Fiscal Officer Pelletier sent out minutes electronically before the meeting for approval.

Motion

Mr. Miller moved to approve the minutes, and Mr. Parker seconded the motion. A verbal vote was taken, and the motion passed unanimously.

GUESTS:

Suzy and Ted Weinberger were present as guests at the meeting.

ZONING INSPECTOR

Mr. Dunlap was not present but reported on zoning matters through written correspondence.

Zoning matters are as follows:

Charles Bennett will continue to update the zoning inspector on the four cases violating Oxford Township’s Zoning Resolution.

ROAD SUPERINTENDENT:

Mr. Dunlap was not present but reported on matters through written correspondence.

Township matters are as follows:

Road Superintendent Dunlap turned in the 2025 Road & Culvert inventory to the Erie County Engineer.

Mr. Dunlap Reported that GovDeals.com sent an E-mail stating that $36,000 was put into our account for the sale of the F-550.

Mr. Dunlap, with the assistance of three Margaretta Township employees, placed 256 tons of stone in the new driveway at Bloomingville Cemetery.

Mr. Dunlap Completed the spring cemetery cleanup on 3-13-2025

Mr. Dunlap installed vinyl sticker lettering on the 2024 F-550

Mr. Dunlap informed the board that Jeff and Rose Martin gave a generous donation of $100 towards the cemetery.

Mr. Dunlap reported that when bulk fuel tanks are emptied for repair, he will need to buy fuel from the gas station until the tanks are completed.

TRUSTEES

Trustee Leber:

Mr. Leber reported that Frontier will replace the damaged phone boxes for which they are responsible. Mr Leber established communication with Frontier after noting the problem and receiving resident calls.

Trustee Miller:

Trustee Miller inquired about cleaning the Delamatre Ditch. This portion of the ditch is not on the maintenance list. Residents have decided they will service their portion of the ditch. The residents will add their portion of the ditch to maintenance.

Mr. Miller received a quote from Sunrise for a 20-gallon meter for $977.00. Mr. Dunlap

Trustee Parker:

Mr. Parker informed the board that the Blue-Ribbon Committee meeting discussed the possibility of bulk purchases throughout the county. Making bulk purchases, such as the current bulk salt purchase, would reduce prices for different items, cutting the cost for townships and other entities.

FISCAL OFFICER:

If necessary, Fiscal Officer Pelletier reported that money may be transferred from Star’s account into our primary checking account until real estate taxes are paid to the township.

COMMUNICATIONS:

No communications from Sheriff Sigsworth.

OLD BUSINESS :

There is no old business reported.

NEW BUSINESS:

Mr. Miller has filed the Park Grant application for $3150.00. The township has a $10,000.00 park budget and will apply for $3150.00. The remaining balance for the swing set will be paid from the park budget. The Resolution for the park grant is 319-1-25.

Motion

Mr. Parker motioned to approve Resolution 319-25-1 for $3150.00 for the new park swing set. The motion passed after a unanimous vote.

Motion

Mr. Miller motioned to pay all bills for Oxford Township with a second from Mr. Parker. The motion passed after a unanimous vote.

Motion

Mr. Miller moved to adjourn, which Mr. Parker seconded. The motion carried after a unanimous vote, and the meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
